Modern slavery statement

Rothian’s voluntary statement on the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.

This statement sets out the steps Rothian Ltd has taken, and will take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. Our turnover is below the threshold that makes a statement mandatory under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We publish one voluntarily because our clients rightly expect it, and because it is the right thing to do.

Our business

Rothian is a technology firm registered in England and Wales. We provide application, cloud, cyber, data and digital services through a small permanent core of subject matter experts and an associate network of independent specialists, working with clients in the UK and Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, India, and Australia and New Zealand.

Our supply chain

Our supply chain is short and largely made up of:

  • independent professionals and small specialist firms in our associate network;
  • technology partners and software-as-a-service providers;
  • cloud hosting and infrastructure providers; and
  • professional services, such as accountancy, legal and insurance.

We assess the risk of modern slavery in our direct operations as low. The higher-risk areas are the hardware and electronics supply chains behind the devices and cloud infrastructure we use, and labour supplied through third parties in some of the regions where we operate.

Our policies

Our approach is supported by our:

  • supplier and associate code of conduct;
  • anti-bribery and corruption policy;
  • whistleblowing policy; and
  • equality, diversity and inclusion policy.

Due diligence and risk management

  • We contract directly with associates wherever possible, rather than through intermediaries, and check right-to-work status where applicable.
  • We pay associates and suppliers promptly, at fair rates, into accounts in their own name.
  • We never require anyone to pay recruitment fees, surrender identity documents or pay deposits to work with us.
  • New suppliers in higher-risk categories are asked to confirm their own compliance, and we prefer providers that publish modern slavery statements and responsible sourcing commitments.
  • Contracts with associates and suppliers include obligations to comply with modern slavery law and our code of conduct.

Training

Directors and everyone involved in engaging associates or suppliers are briefed on the signs of modern slavery and how to report concerns.

Measuring effectiveness

Each year we review:

  • the proportion of new associates and in-scope suppliers who have accepted our code of conduct;
  • any concerns raised, and how they were resolved; and
  • any changes in the risk profile of our supply chain.

Next steps

Over the coming year we will extend supplier questionnaires to cover all technology hardware purchases and review the modern slavery statements of our principal cloud and device providers.

Approval

This statement was approved by the board of Rothian Ltd and covers the financial year ending in 2026. It will be reviewed and updated annually.
